At the Township Committee meeting of March 12, the Committee promoted John Paton to the position of Chief of Police effective March 16, 2009. John joined the Police Department in 1983 as a patrolman and has also served as a detective and sergeant. He has recently been acting as the Patrol Division Commander. The Committee also promoted William Behre to the position of Lieutenant and Thomas Miller to the position of Sergeant.
The Committee will hold a special meeting on March 18 at 7PM in the main meeting room at which time the 3 men will take the oath of office for their new positions.
