The New Jersey Clean Energy Program has launched a
“Refrigerator-Freezer Recycling Program”
Through this program JACO Environmental will remove old refrigerators or freezers at no cost to the resident. The appliances MUST be in working order with an inside measurement of 10 cubic feet or more. JACO will then dismantle and recycle the units in an environmentally responsible manner.
Since 2001 federal standards require greater energy efficiency; current models use about 450 kilowatt-hours annually – older models use up to 1500 kilowatt-hours annually.
Participants in this program will receive a check from the New Jersey Clean Energy Program for $30 within 90 to 120 days after the collection of the old appliance.
